We’re proud to announce that we’ve taken the Boston Community Change online and integrated it with local search to give you fingertip access to BCC merchants across the city.

Boston Community Change enables you to shop locally and sharelocally. We are always looking for better ways to help you support our local schools, merchants and non-profits. To complement your physical Boston Community Change card, we are providing new on-line “i-card” version of that card to help you more easily shop and share locally via the Internet.

The BCC i-card will provide you with the following capabilities:

• Automatically find BCC merchants with your favorite search engine. (Google, Yahoo Local, Yelp or Boston.com)
• Log-in to your BCC account without passwords.

Boston Community Change has partnered with local technology partner Parity Communications to provide you these new on-line capabilities. Parity provides the service under the brand name “Azigo” (www.azigo.com)

HOW IT WORKS:

Search engine overlay

The Azigo search engine overlay helps you easily find local BCC merchants. Using the most popular local search engines (Google Maps, Yahoo! Local, Yelp and Boston.com), just search for any retail, non-profit or service name. Any BCC merchants returned in the native search results will be highlighted with the BCC logo and some text describing rebate and discount information. This will allow you to more easily find BCC merchants and support your local community.

Logging into your BCC account

Your BCC i-card can be used to log into your BCC account and see your personalized information. Instead of requiring you to remember your username and password to log in to the BCC site, you simply click on a“purple i” button. This will trigger azigo to open and prompt you to log in with your BCC i-card. You’re in with just a couple of mouse clicks – no more remembering your username & password!!

i-cards for other sites

Azigo can be used to obtain, manage and use i-cards from other web sites. I-cards are an emerging Internet standard – only a few sites use them now, but soon, you’ll see many more sites take advantage of this secure, convenient technology.

The supported platforms for this download include:

• Runs on Microsoft Vista and XP operating systems. Support for Mac OSX is coming soon.
• Runs on web browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer (v6 and v7) as well as Firefox (v2).
